For this beachside family shoot, I photographed a beautiful young family at Kijkduin beach using my Canon 6D Mark II, 35mm 1.4 Mark I, and the Canon 85mm 1.4 lenses. This was my first time using the new 85mm 1.4 and I was so thrilled to be using it! I absolutely loved the bokeh and sharpness of the lens and it's definitely one of the best 85mm lens Canon has made so far.

This time's family session was with Kim, Youserie and adorable baby Noah, the little one has the cutest smile and he loves the camera, wherever the camera goes Noah's eyes follow, I think he got that from his photogenic and beautiful mother, haha.

It was such a privilege to capture such loving and intimate moments of this family, Noah was an absolute star and he did so great for his first photoshoot on the beach, though he did had a little accident that got some sand in his face he was unbothered and ready to go! What a strong little man!

Sessions like this is exactly why I love being a photographer, capturing precious moments that matter for them to enjoy for many many years to come, it's very fulfilling to say the least!

We decided to do the shoot during golden hour, Golden hour? you might think, it's the best time of the day for photographers because it has the most perfect light conditions. Golden Hour magically erases blemishes. The soft, diffused light blurs imperfections and even adds the perfect touch of a glowing tan, it also gives a unique dreamy look that perfectly suits a family shoot.

Best thing is, it occurs twice a day, a hour before sunrise and a hour before sunset with the latter my favorite!

A big thank you to the Tamer family for having me as the photographer of your wonderful little family.
